The Board of Directors
Network Charter School is organized as a nonprofit organization under the laws of Oregon and has received tax-exempt status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of the U.S. As a nonprofit corporation, the school is managed by the Board of Directors.
Board members have the primary responsibility for fulfillment of the school's mission and are legally accountable for its operations. The Principal and Finance Director attend all Board meetings but are not voting members. The Board sets school policies and is fiscally responsible for the school's resources. The Board selects and evaluates the Principal and the Finance Director, who are responsible for the day-to-day operation of the school.

Network Charter School (NCS) is seeking passionate and committed individuals to join our Board of Directors. As a school dedicated to providing a personalized and engaging learning experience, NCS fosters academic growth and life skills development in a supportive, innovative environment. We are proud to offer alternative educational pathways for students and families within our community.
We are looking for board members who are enthusiastic about supporting our mission and are ready to engage in meaningful leadership. This is a 2–3 year volunteer commitment, with monthly board meetings and potential additional time dedicated to committee work or school events.
Key Qualifications & Responsibilities:
Promote Equity and Inclusion: Help ensure board decisions reflect the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our students and families.
Engage in Decision-Making: Offer a parent or community perspective on school culture, curriculum, policy, and strategic direction.
Strengthen Community Partnerships: Foster communication and collaboration across the school community.
Support Policy Development: Provide input on policies impacting student success, family engagement, safety, and well-being.
Participate in Board and Committee Work: Attend board meetings and contribute to committees focused on family and student engagement.
Collaborate with School Leadership: Work with school leaders to ensure family voices are included in decision-making.

The NCS Board of Directors meets monthly, on the 3rd Tuesday of each month, from 4 - 5:30 pm. There is no meeting in July. The meetings are held at 2550 Portland St, Eugene, OR.
ALL MEETINGS ARE PUBLIC MEETINGS. Network Charter School is bound by the State of Oregon's Open Meeting Law and its Public Records Law. However, the law (ORS 192.660.(2)(a-i)) allows the Board to consider, in private, certain sensitive matters that should not be general public knowledge.
