Culinary CTE: photos and program info

Thanks to the passing of Oregon Ballot Measure 98 in 2016 (a measure requiring state funding for dropout prevention efforts and career/college readiness programs in high schools), our culinary program is now a certified CTE (Career and Technical Education) program!

Our culinary CTE courses prepare students for the first year in Lane Community College's Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management program, as well as for a job in the food service industry. Once students complete culinary courses 1, 2 & 3 (in which students prepare breakfast and lunch daily for all NCS students and staff), they can move on to our Advanced Culinary class, in which they will plan and prepare our school feasts, attend events like Chefs' Night Out (see leftmost/first picture above) and complete internships at local restaurants.
